Below are the needed steps to prepare a domain currently registered with Porkbun to be transferred out. Ensure that the domain is not expiring in the next couple of weeks (at least 2 weeks). If the domain expires during the transfer process, completion is no longer guaranteed.
Check domain contact details
- Log in to your Porkbun account. Click on “Account” at the top right corner of the dashboard and then select “Domain Management”
- Find the domain you want to transfer out. Click “Details,” found on the far right part of the Domain Management page. Select “Edit” within the Domain Contact portion.

- Update the contact information of the domain and click “Submit.”

Remove domain lock and privacy
- Log in to your Porkbun account. Click “Account” at the top right corner of the dashboard and then select “Domain Management”
- Find the domain you want to transfer out and click on the green padlock within the Domain Management section.

- To remove the WHOIS privacy of the domain, click on the eye icon beside the padlock icon.

Get the EPP/Authorization code of your Porkbun registered domain
- Log in to your Porkbun account. Click “Account” at the top right corner of the dashboard and then select “Domain Management”
- Find the domain you want to transfer out. Select “Details,” found on the far right part of the Domain Management page. Click on the “Get Authorization Code” link in the Registrar Transfer Section.

- A new window should pop up containing the code. Copy the available code. Ensure that you have copied the whole code and that there are no extra spaces. Also, note that the authorization code is case-sensitive.
- Please note that there will be a new set of codes generated whenever you click on the “Get Authorization Code” link, rendering any previous codes copied invalid.
