A domain can only be transferred from OVH if it meets the same criteria for incoming transfers. The steps below covers all the steps needed to prepare the domain name to be transferred somewhere else.
Turn off Transfer Protection
- To remove the transfer lock of a domain name, login to OVH Dashboard and go to Web Cloud. From the options found on the top menu, then select Domain Names from the left navigation bar.
- Choose the domain you would like to turn off the domain lock.
- Within the Secuity portion, toggle the transfer lock switch to off.
- Confirm the changes by clicking on the Confirm button from the pop-up window that will appear after toggling the transfer switch.
Obtain the Authorization/EPP code from OVH
- Login to OVH Dashboard and go to Web Cloud. From the options found on the top menu, then select Domain Names from the left navigation bar.
- Select the domain you are planning to transfer to another registrar
- You will then find an “Auth Info” link beside the transfer lock switch and within the Security portion of the general domain information page.
- Click the link to reveal the Authorization code of the domain and ensure that no extra spaces were copied. Note that the code is case-senstive.
