How to Transfer Your Domain Into Hostinger From A Different Registrar

The steps in this guide will outline the process of how to transfer your domain into Hostinger from a different domain name registrar.

For a seamless transfer of registrar, it’s imperative to have the following requirements ready in order to transfer the domain to Hostinger.

  • You must own the domain or be authorized to transfer it
  • Obtain and double-check the Authorization/EPP code (case-sensitive)
  • Domain should not be less than 60 days old and not under the redemption period
  • Privacy of the domain should be removed
  • Transfer locked should be turned off
  • Ensure that the domain’s contact data is up to date
  • Log in to the Hostinger account where you want to have the domain transferred.
  • Go to the left navigation bar and select “Transfer Domain.”
  • Enter the domain name you would like to transfer and then click “Transfer.”
  • Proceed with the payment. You will be redirected back to the list of your domains, and the domain should now show in your hPanel with a pending status
  • Click on the domain and enter the contact details you wish to be inherited by the domain
  • Enter the EPP code and click “Transfer Domain.”
  • Once done, the transfer process should start, and you will be routed to the screen below. An email will also be sent asking you to confirm the domain transfer.
  • You can check the domain transfer status by going back to the domain dashboard page.
  • If an error is encountered during the transfer process (e.g., domain’s authorization code is incorrect), you can go back to the domain dashboard and click on the domain
  • Check on the status and update accordingly. If the error is with the authorization code, click “update EPP,” enter the updated code, and click “Update.”
  • The transfer process will restart automatically
