How to Transfer Your Domain Into Gandi From A Different Registrar

This guide will outline how to move your domain into Gandi from a different domain registrar

Below is a transfer guide to move your domain to Gandi from a different registrar for common domain name extensions. For a seamless transfer of registrar, it’s imperative to have the following requirements ready in order to transfer the domain to Gandi.

  • You must own the domain or be authorized to transfer it
  • Obtain and double-check the Authorization/EPP code (case sensitive)
  • Domain should not be less than 60 days old and not under the redemption period
  • Privacy of the domain should be removed
  • Transfer locked should be turned off
  • Ensure that the domain’s contact data is up to date
  • Login to your Gandi account. Click on Domain in the left menu bar, and click on the Transfer button at the top right
  • Enter the domain name you wish to transfer, press enter, and click on the add to Shopping Cart icon.
  • Click the Continue button at the bottom left side of the screen and review the domain ownership contact details. Continue to the Shopping cart, and then add the Authorization code of the domain by selecting the Add link found within the Authorization code field.
  • Enter the Authorization code and hit submit.
  • Continue to the payment page by acknowledging the terms of use and transfer conditions.
  • An email will then be sent to the registered email contact for the domain. Once the transfer is acknowledged by the losing owner, another email will be sent to the gaining party with a Gandi account and they must accept the final invitation to have the domain appear on their account.
