To prepare the domain to be transferred away from Sav, you will need to follow these sets of instructions.
Removing the domain lock
- Log in to your Sav account and click “My Domains”
- Click on the domain name you wish to transfer out
- Under the Domain Details area, look for the lock status and click “Unlock”

Turning off the domain privacy
- Log in to your Sav account and click “My Domains”
- Click on the domain name you wish to transfer out
- Under the Domain Details area, find the option for WHOIS Privacy
- Click on “Disable”

Obtaining the Authorization/EPP code
- Log in to your Sav account and click “My Domains”
- Click on the domain name you wish to transfer out
- At the bottom of the Domain Details section, find the Authorization Code portion
- Click “View” to get the Authorization/EPP code

- Copy the domain’s authorization code. Please note that it’s case-sensitive; ensure no extra spaces are copied.
- In the event that there’s an error on the authorization code during the transfer process, you can reset it by clicking the “Reset” link. Provide this to the gaining registrar to restart the transfer.
Update the WHOIS Contact details of the domain
For a seamless transfer process, you need to ensure that the domain’s contact details are up to date. In cases where the reg-c email is no longer accessible, you can update the details using the steps outlined below.
- Log in to your Sav account where the domain is currently registered then go to “My Domains”
- Click on the domain name you would like to update
- Scroll a little bit down and find the Whois Contacts field
- Enter the new details, then click “Update”

Note that it may take up to 24 hours for the details to be updated across different WHOIS sites.
