If you currently hold ownership of the domain (possessing access within your Dynadot account), you’ll need to take some preparatory steps before initiating a change of ownership (also known as a domain push) request.
First, ensure that the intended new owner sets up a Dynadot account, should they not already possess one.
After their account is established, obtain their “Push Username” from them. It’s important to note that this may differ from their regular Dynadot username. This username is crucial as it’s required to transfer or “push” the domain into their account.
To find your Push Username, follow these steps:
- Log into your Dynadot account.
- Select ‘My Info’, and then choose ‘Account Settings’ from the menu on the left.
- Your ‘Account Info’ will display various details—look for the fourth entry labeled ‘Name’, listed directly below your username.
Prior to initiating the domain push, it is necessary to disable the lock on the domain(s) you intend to transfer.
To unlock domain, select the domain name you want to transfer
From the ‘Action’ menu on top of the domain name choose the option ‘Unlock dodains’
Subsequently, you will be prompted to supply Dynadot.com with the personal details you provided at the time of account creation in order to unlock the domain.
After unlocking your domain(s) and obtaining the recipient’s push username, you may proceed with the change of ownership (domain push) by following these steps:
- Navigate to the left-side menu and click on “My Domains”
- Select “Manage Domains” from the options that appear.
- Tick the box beside the domain name(s) you wish to transfer. Choose “Change Account” from the “Action” drop-down menu.
In the next step you will be asked to insert the Recipient Push Username and their email.
Click the “Push Domains” button.
Proceed to your shopping cart and continue by clicking the “Checkout” buttons to finalize your change of ownership request.
The domain recipient will receive an email requesting confirmation of the transfer. Upon their acceptance, the domain(s) will be seamlessly pushed from your account to theirs.
For a bulk domain push, select all the domains you wish to transfer and then apply the aforementioned steps. Be aware that the Forum Name and either Organization or Name will be sent to the receiving account.
Please note that newly created accounts are not eligible to push domains into another new account.
