How to Transfer Your Domain Into Register.com From A Different Registrar

These instructions provide a comprehensive guide for transferring your domain from another registrar to Register.com.

To initiate the transfer, you must first prepare your domain for transfer with your current registrar, followed by a few steps at Register.com. Before starting the process, ensure that your domain is ready for transfer.

Although there may be some exceptions, the following steps generally apply to most domain names:

  • Verify that your domain has been registered or transferred for over 60 days.
  • Remove any locks or security settings at your current registrar.
  • Obtain an authorization code from your current registrar.
  • Set your domain’s privacy settings to public.

Please follow these steps to initiate the domain transfer process:

  1. Go to https://www.register.com/domain-transfer/
  2. If you want to transfer more than one domain, enter their names separated by commas and then click on “Get Started”.

Review your order and finalize the purchase by completing the order process.

To prevent potential issues in case the transfer process takes longer than expected, it is recommended to check that your domain name is not expiring within the next 10 days.

Log in to the Account Manager and enter your authorization code.

Check the administrative email address linked to your domain name for the authorization emails from your current registrar.
