The procedure for moving a domain from Names.co.uk varies based on the domain’s extension. This guide will cover the most typical scenarios.
- Transferring a .UK domain away from Names.co.uk
After logging into your Control Panel, click on your domain name.
On the next page scroll to the bottom of the page and select Domain Transfers.
On the next page you’ll see several choices. The final option is labeled “Change Nominet Tag.” Select this link to continue with the transfer out.
Two input fields will now appear that you need to fill in to proceed with the transfer.
You have to provide the reason for moving your domain and input the Nominet/IPS TAG of your new Registrar. If you haven’t acquired it yet, you should contact your new Registrar directly to get this information.
After entering the required information and clicking on ‘Proceed’, you’ll be prompted to pay an administration fee of £10 +VAT. Following your payment, Names.co.uk will send the transfer request to your new provider. They must approve this request for the transfer to be finalized.

Enter your email address and click Proceed. Note, that there is a £10 + VAT administration fee.
After payment is made, an Authorisation Code will be sent to the email address you provided. Share this code with your new provider to facilitate the completion of the transfer process.
