For a seamless transfer of registrar, it’s imperative to have the following requirements ready in order to transfer the domain to Porkbun.
- You must own the domain or be authorized to transfer it
- Obtain and double-check the Authorization/EPP code (case-sensitive)
- Domain should not be less than 60 days old and not under the redemption period
- Privacy of the domain should be removed
- Transfer locked should be turned off
- Ensure that the domain’s contact data is up to date
- Sign in to your Porkbun account. Click “Transfer,” found at the top menu
- Enter the domain name you wish to transfer as well as the authorization/EPP code obtained from the current registrar. Click “Submit”
- A new field will appear at the bottom. This time, select “Add Transfers to Cart.”
- Review the cart and the billing details and proceed with the transfer
- An email will be sent confirming the transfer. Once the current owner acknowledges the transfer, the domain transition will start
- You can check the transfer status of the domain by clicking on the Products tab at the top-left menu and choosing “Transfers.”
