Ensuring that the below requirements are met before transferring a domain name to another registrar will result in a smooth domain transition. This guide covers the transfer process for common TLDs.
Please note: You must be the domain name’s owner, or authorization from the actual owner to transfer the domain must be secured.
- Authorization/EPP code has been obtained
- Make sure your domain was registered or transferred more than 60 days ago
- Domain privacy should be removed
- Transfer locked should be turned off
- Ensure that the domain’s contact data is up to date
- Log in to your Sav account, click “Domains” found in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, and then select “Transfer.”

- Enter the domain you would like to transfer and the authorization/EPP code, and click “Go.”

- Click “Add Domains to Cart” and choose how you would like to have the domain set up (e.g., keep existing DNS or use Sav’s free DNS.)

- Review the payment information, Terms and Conditions, and other policies. Click on “Complete Purchase” to proceed with the transfer
- You will receive an email to confirm a Domain WHOIS verification. Click on the link to verify the domain’s new contact information.

- Track your transfer through the “Transfers” tab found at the top navigation bar. You will be able to see the status of the transfer and any additional steps needed.

- Should the transfer fail, you will be provided with the reason and the option to restart the transfer. Click “Restart” and enter the information needed (e.g., correct/updated authorization code) and then click “Start.”
